Full-Time Nanny Position for 6-Month Old in South Carlsbad
We are a warm, welcoming family of five in Carlsbad seeking an experienced, dependable, and engaging nanny to become an important part of our family. Our primary need is care for our daughter, who will be 6 months old when the full-time position begins this fall.
Both parents work from dedicated home offices and value open communication, professionalism, and creating a positive environment for our children and caregiver alike. We also have two fun-loving boys (ages 3 and 5) who attend school during much of the day and may occasionally need care or pickup.
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys helping children learn and grow and is interested in building a long-term relationship with our family.
Schedule
Part-Time (Sept & Oct)
Mon-Thurs 2-4pm
Full-Time (beginning Nov 2nd)
Mon-Fri 8am-4pm
Occasional date nights and weekend hours.
Responsibilities
Loving, attentive care for our infant daughter, including feeding, diapering, naps, and age-appropriate play
Encouraging developmental milestones through reading, music, outdoor time, and engaging activities
Preparing simple meals and snacks for the children
Keeping children's spaces tidy and assisting with light child-related housekeeping (bottles, dishes, toys, laundry as needed)
Occasional school pickup or care for our 3- and 5-year-old sons when schedules require
Requirements
10+ years of professional childcare experience, ideally including infants and multiple-child households
Passion for early childhood development
Reliable, proactive, organized, and an excellent communicator
CPR and First Aid certified
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Non-smoker
Up to date on recommended vaccinations (including Tdap and seasonal flu)
Compensation & Benefits
$25-30/hour, depending on experience and qualifications
Guaranteed full-time hours (40 hours/week)
Paid vacation and holidays

Our twins, London (girl) and Luca (boy), are very fun and loving 4 year olds! They play really nicely with each other, and love to dance and sing and have a great imagination. My wife, Sophie, and I would love some help for some afternoons and some weekend days/nights so we can have some alone time. Most nights we only need someone here just in case they wake up, but it would be helping us put them to bed and then being here while we're out. We may need some morning help to assist with meals and play at home or out of the house on weekends too.

I am super easy going so this would be more like a partnership than a job. I am hoping to find someone long-term and that is flexible. I know it’s hard times right now, and I completely respect someone who needs to be flexible with me too.
In the beginning, I am looking for a mother’s helper…I will be having a c-section and will need help with the things I am incapable of. i.e. shopping, cleaning, dog walks, meals. This could be totally on your schedule as long as it gets done. I’m thinking 20 hours a week.
When I go back to work, I’m thinking more like 30 hours a week. I work from home and will need to be present in video meetings. That will be primary taking care of him. There will be the occasional Friday I would like to go out and would be based around your schedule.

There will be occasional travel – I have meetings randomly in SF where I will need someone for the night, or a couple days to come with me to Boston and some personal travel (snowboarding/Caribbean).
