A little bit about us

We are a warm, loving family with two energetic children, Cameron (m, 9) and Carsyn (f, 5). We are looking for a nurturing nanny who can become a trusted part of our family. Our ideal caregiver is firm but loving, patient, compassionate, organized, and proactive. We value kindness, consistency, and someone who can provide structure and boundaries while treating our children with respect.

Our schedule is unconventional. A typical rotation may be 26 hours on, approximately 22 hours off, then 26 hours on, generally Monday through Thursday, with coverage ending by Friday morning. There are no regularly scheduled weekends or holidays. Although shifts are long, there is significant downtime while the children are at school and sleeping. The nanny must remain available and responsible for them throughout the scheduled coverage period, including overnight.

Responsibilities include morning and bedtime routines, school drop-off and pickup, transportation to activities, preparing simple meals and snacks, children's laundry, and keeping their belongings and spaces organized.

The children do not typically have homework, but we want them to spend a small portion of their after-school time doing something productive, educational, creative, or active before recreational screen time. We want a healthy balance of structure, independence, downtime, and fun.

Our children are generally independent but need a little more assistance with toileting and personal hygiene than may be expected for their ages. They may need reminders, help cleaning themselves thoroughly after a bowel movement, or assistance changing and cleaning up after an occasional accident. This should always be handled calmly, discreetly, and without embarrassment or shame while encouraging independence.

Most importantly, we need someone reliable and trustworthy who can confidently manage the children's routine while we are away.
