We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and experienced nanny to care for our energetic and loving 2-year-old son, who has special needs. The ideal candidate will provide a nurturing and structured environment, ensuring his safety, engagement, and well-being. This role requires someone who is attentive, reliable, and comfortable handling the unique challenges of caring for a child with high needs.

Portland, OR
Schedule: Part-time, with primary hours from 5 PM to 10 PM (Wednesday –Friday) and occasional additional hours as needed.

We need some help to get our busy kids all the places they need to go:
*Monday afternoons: pick up children from school take them home and then to sports practice. (SW/NWPDX)
*Most Wednesdays: pick up children from school and take to sports practice. (SW/NW PDX)
*Thursday: care for child after school in our home (may also occasionally involve a pickup). (SW/NW PDX)
These ~3 hour shifts will also include driving, snack making, occasional dinner prep or light errands in neighborhood, game playing, reading, etc. We have one kid who loves to swim and would love your help getting him to the pool!
One thing to know is our kids do not attend school close to home. To pick them up and bring them home you will be required to navigate the freeway and side roads at high traffic times; the commute back and forth can occasionally take close to an hour. Cool demeanor and driving expertise is a must; we do have a mini van you could use!
*Occasional additional nights and weekends as needed.
*Kids are smart and high energy. Experience and interest in dealing with neurodiversity, will make the job easier for all of us.

Must have a high standard of care and be willing to follow specific baby care techniques exactly as instructed while also being flexible in adapting to our baby's needs. Must be fully vaccinated with tdap, flu, covid, etc. Bonus points for familiarity with Chinese, Japanese, or Korean culture/language, but this is not required. Planning to do some interviews and trial days to confirm a good match. Looking for up to 2 years of part-time daytime care once a good match is found. Experience and adaptability are also essential—please include your experience in professional infant care settings along with a brief story of a time you had to adjust to a difficult infant’s needs and how you handled it.
