A little bit about us

We have two wonderful girls who will be going to preschool in the mornings starting in the fall. We are looking for someone who can work Monday - Friday from [phone number hidden]pm. The job would entail picking them up from preschool, bringing them back to our apartment for snacks, naps, and quiet play. Our youngest typically naps until 4:30/5pm, so it would be a pretty easy gig!

A little bit about us

Looking for a part time nanny to help with school pick up and after school activities. I have two kids -- a 6 year old girl and 2 year old boy. I am looking for help from 3-7 but am flexible. I would love some help with meal prep for the kids and pick up in the afternoon. Occasional weekends would be great as well. My husband's dad is quite ill and based in NY and we expect that he will need to be out of town a fair amount this fall and so I will often be solo parenting.

A little bit about us

I need a Nanny to hire as a PCA worker. Between 25 hours a week but the pay for 25 hours a week for two kids would be 50 hours a week pay. We can set up a schedule but mainly after school hours and on weekends. I may require overnights which are added pay. I have 7 kids all friendly, my older kids will likely be helping out so you would be more responsible for the younger children aged 1, 3, 4, and 7.

Responsibilities would be meal prep, pick up and drop off, attending appointments, clean up, laundry, errand runs, medications, and a few other things. These will be for 2 of the children only and not the household.

What Are After-School Nanny Jobs?

After-school nanny jobs are part-time positions that cover weekday afternoons, usually from school pickup until early evening. They fit nannies who want a regular schedule, students, and people with other commitments in the morning.

Types of After-School Nanny Jobs and Responsibilities

Typical duties include school or bus-stop pickup, snacks, homework help, activities and lessons, and sometimes dinner. Some jobs include a few mornings or school holidays too. Check the school pickup time, the days per week, and whether driving is required.

How to Interview for After-School Nanny Jobs

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is a nanny job interview. Here are some questions you should ask:

  • What time is school pickup, and which days do you need care?
  • Will I drive, and is a car seat or vehicle provided?
  • How do you handle early dismissals and school holidays?
  • What are the children's activities and routines?
  • Is dinner or light housekeeping part of the job?

Beyond asking these questions, families will want you to have your nanny references ready and ask any questions to show initiative. The nanny job interview is an excellent opportunity to get aligned on the nanny job expectations. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
