A little bit about us
We need someone to keep our boys safe, prepare after school snacks, help with going to the bathroom, give them freedom to express their emotions, and mainly just allow them to play however they like without a lot of adult-led input. We have a RIE approach to parenting (somewhat similar to Montessori), so it's important that a caregiver delights in them being themselves. We are looking for someone warm and nurturing.
The schedule is Mondays through Thursdays from 2-4 and Fridays from 12-4. On schools breaks and during the summer, the schedule would be Monday through Friday from 9-4. We are looking for someone with a car to pick our youngest up from school. Housekeeping- dishes (sink and dishwasher); kids' laundry; changing kids bedding; kids garbage; cleaning play spaces and tidying up after them. During school breaks and summer, we are open to increasing the hourly pay rate to $25/hour.

What Are After-School Nanny Jobs?
After-school nanny jobs are part-time positions that cover weekday afternoons, usually from school pickup until early evening. They fit nannies who want a regular schedule, students, and people with other commitments in the morning.
Types of After-School Nanny Jobs and Responsibilities
Typical duties include school or bus-stop pickup, snacks, homework help, activities and lessons, and sometimes dinner. Some jobs include a few mornings or school holidays too. Check the school pickup time, the days per week, and whether driving is required.
How to Interview for After-School Nanny Jobs
Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is a nanny job interview. Here are some questions you should ask:
- What time is school pickup, and which days do you need care?
- Will I drive, and is a car seat or vehicle provided?
- How do you handle early dismissals and school holidays?
- What are the children's activities and routines?
- Is dinner or light housekeeping part of the job?
Beyond asking these questions, families will want you to have your nanny references ready and ask any questions to show initiative. The nanny job interview is an excellent opportunity to get aligned on the nanny job expectations. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
