A little bit about us

I have 3 energetic but good boys and recently found out I will be having another child in November. I would like to find afternoon help from about 3pm to 7 pm at least 4 out of 5 days of the week and then maybe 4 hours of help during either a Saturday or Sunday.
I would be in the home with the kids as well and still very hands on with older kids doing homework etc...
I would love love to find somebody who likes to cook bc I do not. Making dinners would be very very helpful and a top priority:)!

A little bit about us

We have two active kids, Atticus (5) and Amelia (7). Atticus is in preschool and we need help in PMs and some mornings to drop off at school and pick up from school and watch them for a couple of hours each PM. We could also use someone who is organized who can help keep kids stuff organized. Light dinner prep would help as well. Ability to drive kids to practices etc is a requirement.

What Are After-School Nanny Jobs?

After-school nanny jobs are part-time positions that cover weekday afternoons, usually from school pickup until early evening. They fit nannies who want a regular schedule, students, and people with other commitments in the morning.

Types of After-School Nanny Jobs and Responsibilities

Typical duties include school or bus-stop pickup, snacks, homework help, activities and lessons, and sometimes dinner. Some jobs include a few mornings or school holidays too. Check the school pickup time, the days per week, and whether driving is required.

How to Interview for After-School Nanny Jobs

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is a nanny job interview. Here are some questions you should ask:

  • What time is school pickup, and which days do you need care?
  • Will I drive, and is a car seat or vehicle provided?
  • How do you handle early dismissals and school holidays?
  • What are the children's activities and routines?
  • Is dinner or light housekeeping part of the job?

Beyond asking these questions, families will want you to have your nanny references ready and ask any questions to show initiative. The nanny job interview is an excellent opportunity to get aligned on the nanny job expectations. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
