A little bit about us

Hi! I am a mother in need of specific help for my two tweens who are in the 6th and 8th grades. Our primary needs will be to have someone who can pick them up from school at 2:45 p.m. every day, bring them home, and then either drive them to their activities or help with errands and housework. Comfort with cooking meals is a must. Housework besides cooking would include laundry and occasional home organization. Errand's running would include grocery shopping, dry-cleaning, and trips to purchase household items. We do have a dog as well - a mini golden doodle. She is 25 pounds and is hypoallergenic, so hopefully you are comfortable with that. Thank you in advance for considering this job!

A little bit about us

My daughter attends Starkweather Elementary School in West Chester. I would need an after school pickup and back to my apartment at the Point in West Chester. Homework help, feed her dinner and hang out with her until 8PM, when I return home from work. That would occur Mon-Wed. I finish at 5 on Fridays, so I would only need an hour or so on that day and I would need Saturday coverage from 8-6, 3 times per month.

A little bit about us

Help in the morning getting my son to school by 9am, as well as pickup at 4pm. School is 10mins from my location.
Evening help from 4-6 or 7pm.
Occasional weekend and holiday help as well. (Overnights a possibility)

My son is 4 and will be 5 the end of March 2025.
He LOVES being outside, legos, cars, monster trucks, sports and just plain old "good company".

I do have 1 dog, she is 14. She's very well trained and behaved, doesn't need much at all when I'm home. Only time I may need help with her is if I go overnight anywhere.

Additional hours are available to help with preparation for the baby (washing/organizing baby clothes, nursery prep, etc.).
Then December, we will need full-time childcare for the infant - so, if available, this position could go from part-time to full-time!

What Are After-School Nanny Jobs?

After-school nanny jobs are part-time positions that cover weekday afternoons, usually from school pickup until early evening. They fit nannies who want a regular schedule, students, and people with other commitments in the morning.

Types of After-School Nanny Jobs and Responsibilities

Typical duties include school or bus-stop pickup, snacks, homework help, activities and lessons, and sometimes dinner. Some jobs include a few mornings or school holidays too. Check the school pickup time, the days per week, and whether driving is required.

How to Interview for After-School Nanny Jobs

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is a nanny job interview. Here are some questions you should ask:

  • What time is school pickup, and which days do you need care?
  • Will I drive, and is a car seat or vehicle provided?
  • How do you handle early dismissals and school holidays?
  • What are the children's activities and routines?
  • Is dinner or light housekeeping part of the job?

Beyond asking these questions, families will want you to have your nanny references ready and ask any questions to show initiative. The nanny job interview is an excellent opportunity to get aligned on the nanny job expectations. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
