We are looking for a kind, reliable, and experienced nanny for my 4-year-old daughter in Chantilly.

She is sweet, smart, and very expressive. Like many children her age, she can have big feelings at times, so we’re looking for someone patient, calm, and comfortable supporting a child through emotions in a gentle and positive way.

This role would be a great fit for someone who:
- Has prior experience caring for young children (ages 3–6 preferred)
- Is patient, nurturing, and able to stay calm during challenging moments
- Can set kind, consistent boundaries
- Understands that building trust with a child takes time

Responsibilities include playtime, light meal/snack prep, and creating a safe, engaging environment.

Requirements:
- Reliable transportation
- CPR certified (or willing to obtain)
- Prior childcare experience preferred

If you are warm, dependable, and enjoy working with young children, we’d love to connect. Please share your experience and approach to handling big emotions in children.

Responsibilities include pick ups from school
and drop offs to various extracurricular activities and then bedtime routine. Occasional weekends and overnights a plus.

Compensation & Benefits:
- $24–$28/hour based on experience
- Guaranteed weekly hours
- Respectful, supportive work environment
- Clear communication and expectations

We value reliability, professionalism, and a calm, nurturing approach, and we aim to create a positive, long-term working relationship.

After-school nanny jobs are part-time positions that cover weekday afternoons, usually from school pickup until early evening. They fit nannies who want a regular schedule, students, and people with other commitments in the morning.

Types of After-School Nanny Jobs and Responsibilities

Typical duties include school or bus-stop pickup, snacks, homework help, activities and lessons, and sometimes dinner. Some jobs include a few mornings or school holidays too. Check the school pickup time, the days per week, and whether driving is required.

How to Interview for After-School Nanny Jobs

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is a nanny job interview. Here are some questions you should ask:

  • What time is school pickup, and which days do you need care?
  • Will I drive, and is a car seat or vehicle provided?
  • How do you handle early dismissals and school holidays?
  • What are the children's activities and routines?
  • Is dinner or light housekeeping part of the job?

Beyond asking these questions, families will want you to have your nanny references ready and ask any questions to show initiative. The nanny job interview is an excellent opportunity to get aligned on the nanny job expectations. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
