A little bit about us

Looking for a nanny for our 10 month old son. We need someone full time (45 hours a week) who is somewhat flexible to stay late or come early on occasion as my husband as I both travel for work. Someone who drives is ideal, though not necessary. We would love someone Spanish speaking as we’d like for him to learn it from an early age. We’re looking for someone long term who can be part of our family as it continues to grow!

A little bit about us

We are seeking an in-home caregiver for our 12-month-old boy in East Hyde Park (near the Point). Initial weeks to months would be half-days, either 12pm-5pm or 7:45am-1pm with some flexibility. Potential to transition to full-time in early Spring.

Responsibilities include: caring for and playing with our toddler, simple toddler meal prep and clean-up, and occasional school pickup (on foot) of our rather independent 8-year-old from nearby Bret Harte Elementary.

Preference for someone local to the neighborhood with good references and a warm personality. Knowledge of Russian, Persian, and/or Uzbek is a plus.

Minimum of $20/hour, but wiling to negotiate for the right person.

My wife and I live in Humboldt park and have a 2 year old boy and 1 year old girl. Both are very sweet. No developmental delays that we are aware of, but we prefer that a nanny be able to speak or interested in learning to speak Italian with the children. Our kids are en route to being Italian, Mexican, and U.S. citizens.

A little bit about us

Looking for a Russian-speaking nanny for my 7-month-old daughter.

I'm a stay-home mom and need help with my baby. Ideally, I’d like to leave home for 2 hours, or you take her for a walk. The rest of the time, I am at home and studying while you spend time with the baby, or I'm with her while you are prepping some meals.

I adhere to the psychology of bonding and attachment. Studying approaches of Petranovskaya and Gordon Newfield. So it’s good if you share the same philosophy.

There might be many criteria but choosing a nanny is kind of like dating. The important thing is that you like children and have paid experience.

A little bit about us

Hi! We are looking for the best person to take care of our 3 month baby, to continue helping her to keep learning new things everyday! She is a wonderful baby, already social, always smiling. She does take naps but usually in our arms. She loves conversation, when we read books to her and go for walks. We have at home a pet that loves to protect the little one, at the beginning does not trust people immediately but ones she gets to know you she loves you!
At home mom talks in Spanish and dad in English, so if you are bilingual would be a plus!

What Are Bilingual Nanny Jobs?

Bilingual nanny jobs are positions where speaking a second language is a valued part of the role. Families may want their children to learn a language, keep up a language spoken at home, or communicate with a grandparent or relative. Your language skills can set you apart from other candidates and may support a higher rate.

Types of Bilingual Nanny Jobs and Responsibilities

Some families want you to speak only the second language with the children, and others want a mix throughout the day. Responsibilities can include childcare, meals, activities, and reading and playing in the second language. Jobs can be full-time, part-time, or live-in, so check the schedule and expectations in each posting.

How to Interview for Bilingual Nanny Jobs

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is a nanny job interview. Here are some questions you should ask:

  • Which language do you want me to use, and how often?
  • How fluent do you expect me to be?
  • Do the children already speak the language?
  • Are there other adults in the home who speak it?
  • Is language teaching part of the role, or just everyday conversation?

Beyond asking these questions, families will want you to have your nanny references ready and ask any questions to show initiative. The nanny job interview is an excellent opportunity to get aligned on the nanny job expectations. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
