A little bit about us

We are looking for someone to care for our 4 kids while I work from home from now until July 16. We are are Sunriver and have passes to the SHARC as well as access to biking trails. I'm looking for someone 7-3 or 7-4 Monday-Friday and hope to have someone who can keep all my children engaged at their various ages and keep them active. They love to hike, bike, kayak, swim, etc. Keeping them accountable to keeping our rental house neat is part of this as well. We do have a small maltese dog (hypoallergenic). We have a car you can use with the kids.

A little bit about us

We have a 4 year old boy named Conrad and a 2 month old girl named Quincy. We are looking for someone to help part time during the week this summer (when school gets out). I work from home so I will be on-site but try to stay out of the way so I don’t disrupt the flow of the day. Quincy is still very dependent on me so you will primarily be helping with Conrad. He’s an active 4 year old who loves playing outside but also loves drawing, building legos and make believe. We are excited to find someone to help for a couple of months!

What Are Short-Term Nanny Jobs?

Short-term nanny jobs are temporary positions with a set end date, such as covering a parental leave, a family move, a summer, or a gap between nannies. They suit nannies who like variety, are between jobs, or want to try a family before committing.

Types of Short-Term Nanny Jobs and Responsibilities

Short-term jobs can be full-time or part-time and last from a few weeks to several months. Responsibilities are the same as in an ongoing job, with an emphasis on getting up to speed quickly. Check the dates, the hours, and whether there is a chance of the role being extended.

How to Interview for Short-Term Nanny Jobs

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is a nanny job interview. Here are some questions you should ask:

  • What are the start and end dates, and could the job be extended?
  • Is the schedule full-time or part-time?
  • What is the reason for the temporary role?
  • How will I be paid, and is there a written agreement?
  • What routines and house rules should I know on day one?

Beyond asking these questions, families will want you to have your nanny references ready and ask any questions to show initiative. The nanny job interview is an excellent opportunity to get aligned on the nanny job expectations. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
