What Are Traveling Nanny Jobs?

Traveling nanny jobs are positions where you join a family on trips, from short vacations to long stays. They suit nannies who love to travel, have flexible schedules, and are comfortable caring for children away from home.

Types of Traveling Nanny Jobs and Responsibilities

Some jobs are regular, such as a family that travels every month, and others are occasional, such as a holiday or a work trip. Duties include childcare in hotels, rental homes, or on the road, with longer or less predictable hours. Check who covers travel costs, how travel days are paid, and how much notice you will get.

How to Interview for Traveling Nanny Jobs

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is a nanny job interview. Here are some questions you should ask:

• How often will I travel, and for how long?
• Who pays for flights, accommodation, and meals?
• How are travel days and long hours paid?
• Will I need a passport or any other documents?
• How much notice will I get for trips?

Beyond asking these questions, families will want you to have your nanny references ready and ask any questions to show initiative. The nanny job interview is an excellent opportunity to get aligned on the nanny job expectations. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
