I would say listening. I know sometimes children don't always feel like they are being heard, especially with devices like phones and TV all around, so just being a supportive and caring person can go a long way.

I think my favorite moment was at camp, where a child who had a hard home life came up to me, and she cried as she thanked me for the fun week and how she was so grateful to have me as her counselor. I also saw how special she was, and it just warmed my heart that I affected her like that.
