I've done a lot of work babysitting with children and I've also helped out a bit in schools because my dad is a teacher
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I like drawing with them and seeing all sorts of things they come up with. Playing any sort of music is also of a hobby of mine since I play a lot of instruments. Playing physical games like Just Dance or something along those lines. I pretty much like lots of creative hobbies and I'm very opened minded!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I believe the most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe environment and building a trusting relationship with the parents and the children.
My experience with special needs children...
Since I work at the YMCA, there are a couple kiddos who are non-verbal and have autism and usually I talk along with them and play a few games with them. I've also babysat children with OCD and ADHD. I would say I've babysat about 3 children with special needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One little girl who I had baby sat was 5 years old, at first because she was a little scared of me, was very quiet. But as the day continued, we played lots of games and talked about all sorts of things, she actually hugged me when her mom arrived and wouldn't let go until her mom told her it was bed time.
