I am focusing on an elementary education major; I completed 5 years working in an elementary school working with various grades as I began. I then focused on Kindergarten. I have 7+ years working with children, nannying; ages range from 2-13. My most recent job included working as a behavior tech working with special needs students with autism; providing ABA services and education.

I think the most important part of being a nanny is the connection with the kids and the parents. Having open communication with the parents makes for an easy transition to assisting in childcare. The needs of the kids, can be met through building a relationship with them.

The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my most memorable moments from nannying would be creating a surprise party for the mother of the children I nanny for. I snuck in, the night before. The girls and i set up the kitchen with birthday surprises and woke up early to surprise their mom. The reactions from the girls and the parents made it worth while!
