The most important part of being a nanny is being a calm, regulated presence amid the beautiful chaos of family life. While the kids are who I'm caring for day to day, a huge part of this job for me is about the parents, helping ease their stress so the whole family feels less stressed and more calm and regulated themselves. That opens up real room for meaningful connection between them as a family, and that's a beautiful thing to help promote. I genuinely enjoy the day-to-day tasks, things like tidying up, helping with homework, or school pickups. But what gives them real meaning is knowing they're part of creating an environment where a family can connect in a happier, more meaningful way.
