Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I interned with the Sadie Nash Leadership Project in Newark and worked with children ages 13-18. I personally had a group of 10 young girls that I worked with every morning in the summer. The larger group was a total of 40 girls! We went on field trips, had park days, movie nights, and fun workshops! All of this experience taught me about appropriate meal planning, activities, and supplies to bring when traveling with large groups of young people. I also remained calm and sure during stressful situations or interpersonal conflicts they were having. This internship helped me increase my communication and conflict resolution skills, which is important when working with people of all ages! I know the skills I learned in this job will be helpful to my new journey as a sitter! :)
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Since the warmer seasons are coming up, I love going to the park, having picnics, and generally being outside. On gloomier and colder days, movies, board games, and card games are also super fun ways to pass the time. I've been told I make great pillow forts by my little cousins :)
