More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

From a young age I have always been passionate about children. I began volunteering at my elementary school once i was in middle school. So from the age of 12, I have been in a space that required me to interact and be around children often. At around the age of 19, i volunteered to be a teacher’s assistant to a kindergarten class, and that went on for about a year. Then, at the age of 21 I worked for the Santa Ana Unified School District for a short amount of time with students ranging from 7-16 years old. For the past two years I had been a Private In-Home Elderly Care-Giver.

The most important part about being a nanny...

This wasn’t particularly a nanny moment, however, this was while I was volunteering at an elementary school. There was an event where parents were invited to participate and have breakfast with their kindergartener. There was one child whose parents weren’t able to make it that day, so I sat next to them and accompanied them so they wouldn’t feel alone or isolated. He was slow to open up but little by little I made him laugh and made him feel seen in a way. It brought me so much joy in seeing how much a small act could have such a huge impact on someone, even if it was in that moment. I always remember that, and I cherish it. It is important for me to make children feel seen, heard, acknowledged, and cared for.
