I babysat for two summers while in school, as well as occasional babysitting for the last 4 years. For two years in middle school as well as two years in high school, I was apart of a childcare program that involved me spending time in a preschool and a kindergarten class for 5 days a week. Weekly, I would be expected to create learning/arts and crafts activities for students. As well as preparing their breakfast/snack time/lunch.
The most important part about being a nanny...
To me, the most important part about being a nanny is being trustworthy, reliable, and respectful. Leaving your children with anyone is a big deal, and the parents should be able to feel 100% confident in the safety of their kids. As well as feeling confident in their schedule being met and fulfilled by who they choose to hire. Failure to show up on time or to show up at all can affect trust and dependency between parents and nanny. To be respectful as a nanny means to be unbiased in caring for the child/children, to honor the parents opinions or wishes in how they want their child cared for.
