I worked for a nonprofit after-school program in 2023, providing homework help and facilitating educational and physical enrichment activities. In 2022, I facilitated music expression and enrichment groups for young children experiencing bereavement.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Go on walks in neighborhoods and parks, initiating conversations with them about nature, colors, and objects they see and what thoughts and feelings come up related to these things. I also enjoy making music through singing or instrument playing as well as drawing, making arts and crafts. Anything to keep them engaged and tire them out so they get a good night's rest.

Limited experience with special needs children but adaptable, flexible and open to learning. I am very patient and understanding. My priority is safety. I have provided group music therapy services to elementary students with special needs ranging from developmental and physical disabilities to address expressive and receptive communication as well as improving gross and fine motor skills.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I was supervising a teen when she wanted to bake peanut butter cookies from scratch. She wanted full independence reading the recipe, measuring and mixing ingredients and I tested her cookies and she mixed up the measurements for salt and sugar. It was the saltiest cookie I've ever had. It was a great lesson in being thorough!
