The most important part about being a nanny or in any situation where I have worked with kids is giving them a supportive person. I have found that many kids just want someone to listen to them and help them navigate through life. Teaching kids and learning with them I have found is important when taking care of kids. It's always important to maintain a balance of friend and mentor.

For a little over 5 years I have worked and babysat a child who had mild autism. Taking care of his medications and enforced electronic limitations. We have worked through many strong emotions and moments of overstimulation.
