A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Alex, and I am currently looking for a babysitting position! I recently graduated from USC with a masters degree in screenwriting, and now I'm looking for jobs I can do while pursuing my writing aspirations.

I two years of professional babysitting experience. The bulk of that work was while I was in undergrad, babysitting for a lovely family with a 4-year-old and a 1-year-old. I also have two years of professional tutoring experience, most of which was spent tutoring pre-K and elementary school students. I have my own car and a clean driving record, and am comfortable with any household pets.

As a tutor! I currently work as a tutor at an LAUSD school, where I assist teachers in their classrooms. I have also done private tutoring for about two years, teaching k-12 students in ELA and math.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Anything creative! I love encouraging children to find their creative side through drawing, crafts, music, and make-believe. I am a creative person, and I love bringing that side of myself to all my babysitting jobs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Attentiveness. I always prioritize safety over everything else, and am always aware of any potential harm. I want the parents I nanny for to know that their children are in good hands and that someone is always keeping an eye on them.

My experience with special needs children...

At my tutoring job with LAUSD, I do after school tutoring for children with ADHD and ADD. I understand the nuances of caring and teaching for students with learning disabilities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Was watching a child I was nannying learn to talk! I started babysitting a little girl in college when she was one years old, and over the course of the two years I babysat her I got to see her get a grasp of language and see her personality emerge!
