I love going for walks and hikes at parks or nature preserves. I'm an avid reader so I'd love to read books at the library. I taken kids to museums and the petting zoo before as well.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Is having patience and empathy for the kids (and parents) you work with. You need to understand kids don't intend to hurt or disrespect you, they are tiny humans learning how to be in the world and don't know how to properly voice their wants and needs yet. Everyone has their rough days and patience is key.
My experience with special needs children...
I am Autistic myself and have worked with children with down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, feeding tubes, and more. My entire career has been with disabilities from dietary aide to inclusion aide to paraprofessional to ABA therapist. I am very comfortable and more than willing to work with any disability.
