More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I taught for about 3 years! I did my student teaching at a small private Catholic school in a first grade classroom, and then I taught for 2 years in third grade! I loved teaching and work with children, helping them grow into the best tiny humans! My first year teaching I was nominated for beginning teacher of the year, and even got to run my own club!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to read with the kiddos, draw, do arts and crafts, teach and learn, and play, both indoors and outdoors!
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is building a strong relationship with the kiddo(s), where they feel confident and safe with you. They should be able to confide in you when they need help, or turn to you for encouragement, when they have their best days and their worst days! It's important to help the kiddo(s) be kids, have fun, and enjoy everything life has to offer!
My experience with special needs children...
Growing up, I spent a lot of time with my Uncle Timmy who had down syndrome. We bonded over his love for movies and bowling! When I entered high school, I was given the amazing opportunity to coach a special needs cheerleading team of 36 kiddos! I absolutely loved every moment I got to spend with my athletes!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I never "nannied" per-say, but growing up, I often times watched over my little sister while my parents were out. One of my favorite things about this was playing "school" with her. She loved to learn and be the "student" in "my math class", and this made her all the more excited for school when she was old enough to attend!
