A little bit about me

I’m 19 years old, and going to school for Psychology! I live in Winsted, CT. I’m a very trustworthy, caring, empathetic, and reliable person! I’m into animals, music, singing, dancing, and the outdoors! I have under a year of experience with childcare, but I did work in the field consistently in a daycare for a while, and then as a private nanny/babysitter for a family for a bit too! I have references :), I grew up around younger children as well, and I’ve always been very nurturing and comforting and just very good with kids. If there’s any questions at all, feel free to ask! More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I volunteered at a daycare that my younger brothers went to back when I was 14 or 15 years old. That went on for a couple months, I did very well with them, but with school and extra curricular and stuff it didn’t work for long, unfortunately. I also went to that daycare myself as a school ager. I was about 8 or 9, and I would go into the preschool room and toddler rooms and I would volunteer in those younger rooms while I was there and help the teachers out because I was so good with them and how much I loved helping to care for them. As well as those volunteer things, I worked at a daycare back early 2025, this year, I left the job due to staff drama and problems that were getting out of hand and the daycare itself after working there for a few months. Shortly after that, I worked for an individual family who has one infant child, I worked for them for a few months as well, but that job ended due to the family wanting to socialize the baby more with friends, so put her in daycare.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I LOVE finding cute arts and crafts to do with the kids that parents can frame or keep that mean something special that the kid can do and help with no matter how little they are. I’d bring my own materials and ideas! I also love taking walks with them, dancing and singing, reading books, trying to teach the new talents or skills based on age group, etc..

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny to me is being able to protect the kids and be the next ones to be there for them in any way you can be or have to be when the parents aren’t there. I’d do anything for these kids I nanny for or care for. To keep them safe, to make them laugh, anything. I love seeing them smile and laugh, learn new skills, be safe and happy, and develop a trust with me. It’s all amazing :).

My experience with special needs children...

In the daycare’s I’ve worked and volunteered with, there’s been some special needs children I’ve worked fine with. But I don’t necessarily have specific experience with it. If the parents spoke to me and stuff about triggers, the condition, stuff like that, I believe I’d do just fine :).

The most important part about being a nanny...

it makes my HEART MELTTT when the baby I used to nanny for would just randomly hug me, I took care of her from a few months until she was over a year. She would run up to me with wide eyes and a hugeeee smile and hug me when she’d see me. It would make my heart smile. I loved it.. and when she as a baby baby, she went to the daycare I worked at before as well, and out of everyone that worked there, I was the only person she would ever fall asleep for. The staff used to have to call me into that specific room for nap time to put her to sleep cuz she only slept for me at daycare. I still don’t even know what it was, but it was sweet and I loved the bond and connection and trust I had with this kid from the very beginning, and the family too.
