A little bit about me

Hi, my name is Alexia. Before you continue reading I just want to say I don't have a CPR or First Aid certification but I can get one if you would like me to. I love to read, and watch tv in my spare time. I am currently taking a break from college to save up so I can finish my degree. I came to Seattle for school but absolutely fell in love with it, so I decided this is where I want to live. I am very reliable and responsibility is my forte. I don't mind staying late or coming in early when needed. I myself understand that something live throws a curve ball and you just need a bit of help. (That's why I'm here)

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I first stated taking care of kids when I was 15 and in foster care, my foster mom had gotten a 3 month child. I learned so much about new borns and the care they needed. It's a lot of responsibility and I am so glad we got to learn together how to raise a child. Since then I have taken care of a boy from the age of 2.5 years to about 3 years old and and a girl from 9 months to 2 and a half years. Those are just the long term positions I have had but I do babysit for short-term like when parents just want to go on dates or when my family need some help.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Swimming, Watching TV, Playing at Parks, Dress Up, Going out for Ice cream, Arts and crafts.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is making sure everyone's comfortable, making sure no one's overworking themselves. It's why they bring you in, you're supposed to be there to help out and what matters to me most is when at the end of the day they say thank you that they couldn't have done this without me and it just makes me feel like I've done my job

The most important part about being a nanny...

Watching the intelligence growth is really mind blowing. I was a nanny for 1 family, there baby girl was about 9 months when I came into her life and about 4 or 5 months later she was the smartest little thing I've ever met. Looking back at the intellectual growth was crazy it just came out of nowhere. I was utterly amazed. It happened in the span of 1 day!

Farah E. - Seeking Work in Seattle

Babysitter Available in Seattle, WA: Farah E.

Hi! My name is Farah, and I'm a journalist who moved to Seattle from Phoenix a few years ago. I currently live with my husband and two cats, and we spend much of our free time at concerts, exploring art galleries, trying out new recipes and more.

I come from a family of educators. My grandma was an English teacher in Egypt for close to three decades and still keeps in touch with most of her students! My mom is currently a special ed paraeducator back in Phoenix, a job she holds close to her heart. My mom's students absolutely adore her, and I owe everything to these two for teaching me about love and how to treat children with the utmost care and compassion.

I take pride in my background as a Muslim and coming from an first-gen immigrant family. My identities have helped me see the world with a strong social justice mindset. I believe in creating a safe, equitable and affirming environment for children of all backgrounds to learn and grow.
