Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I am an artist so any activities that involve a creative side are a favorite. Inside activities could be anything from coloring to learning letters in paint (Mathilda style). I meet the child where they are and am always open to follow their lead in play.
I love being outside and know how great simply running around can be. I enjoy anything from catch to playing in a sand box and everything in between.

The most important part about being a nanny...
I believe meeting the child and parent(s) where they are is one of the most imported parts of nannying. There is no cookie cutter approach to supporting any child and family. Each child will have their own personalities, needs, likes/dislikes and much more.
My experience with special needs children...
In my role as a pre-school teacher I worked to assist the lead teacher with our students with learning and developmental disabilities.
Outside of professional experience, I live with learning disabilities and have my personal experience of navigating the world with these differences.
Also my degree was focused on art and disabilities in the world. So there is a personal passion for the support of people with disabilities/differences.

The most important part about being a nanny...
I appreciate how honest kids can be and I have had my fair share of this in my time as a teacher. A very funny child named Veda, saw that I had a pimple and very graciously pulled me aside to let me know that I would need to go to the doctor to get "a new face". I asked her what she meant and just told me that I can't come back to school until it was gone and then ran off to her spot at the sand table. The pimple went away and she thanked me for getting rid of it so she could look at my face again.
She kept me humble for the school year and I appreciated that she always keep me on my toes.
