More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have been caring for children since I was 16, starting with in-home care for family members and friends. I also worked in local daycares and YMCA summer camps in [phone number hidden], gaining experience in both structured group settings and daily childcare routines.
My longest position was caring for three children ages 1, 3, and 8 when I started. I provided full-day care for the younger two, supported routines, planned activities, and picked up the oldest from the bus stop after school. I stayed with this family for over three years, until the older children were in school full time and the youngest began Pre-K.
After moving to Georgia, I continued babysitting while working as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). While I’ve gained professional experience in child development, my focus has always been warm, dependable care where children feel safe, respected, and free to be themselves. I prioritize following each child’s interests and creating a calm, supportive environment.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love engaging children in fun, hands-on activities that match their interests and energy. I especially enjoy imaginative play, dress-up, and creating pretend worlds that encourage creativity and laughter. I also love outdoor play like bubbles, tag, red light green light, Simon Says, scavenger hunts, and nature walks.
For calmer moments, I enjoy sticker books, puzzles, sensory activities, crafts, and simple science experiments that let kids explore and stay curious. I also like playing games such as Zingo, board games, and other interactive activities that are fun and engaging.
Music and movement are a big favorite too—we can dance along to Danny Go and Gracie’s Corner and get energy out in a positive way. I also enjoy winding down with a favorite movie or a documentary based on a child’s special interests. My goal is always to bring joy, connection, and activities that make kids smile.

The most important part about being a nanny...
I think being a nanny is important because children benefit from having as many safe, caring, and supportive adults in their lives as possible. A consistent, loving presence can help a child feel secure, understood, and confident as they grow. I value being someone who shows up with patience, warmth, and respect, and who helps create a calm, positive environment where kids feel comfortable being themselves.
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience supporting neurodivergent children in both clinical and in-home settings. For the past year, I have worked as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) with children ages 2–17, including autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, and other learning differences.
I have also provided private care for a young girl with autism and a speech impediment, including attending therapy sessions and supporting in-home care. I also gained hands-on experience caring for my younger brothers during [phone number hidden].
I am neurodivergent myself, which has given me strong empathy and a natural connection with children who experience the world differently. I focus on helping children feel safe, understood, and respected. I currently work in-home with a young boy with autism as an RBT, but I am especially drawn to caregiving that emphasizes joy, comfort, and exploration. I am passionate about acceptance and inclusion for all neurodivergent children.

The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments with a child I care for happened at the playground. I was supporting one of my less verbal kiddos, and I had the chance to step back and simply observe as they began to engage with other children. At first it was small—eye contact, a few gestures, and quiet attempts to join in—but over time, they started using more words and confidently approaching other kids.
What meant the most to me was watching them begin to build real connections on their own. They started asking to play, joining games, and showing interest in making friends. Seeing that shift from quiet observation to active social connection was incredibly powerful. I was so proud in that moment, and honestly, I cried seeing them experience that sense of belonging and confidence with their peers.

Full-Time Child Care Provider Available in Canton, GA: Lori S.
I have a medical background as an NICU Neonatal Coordinator/Respiratory Therapist. I left that career eleven years to stay home and raise my children. When re-entering the workforce I decided I did not want to go back into the hospital environment, however, I still loved working with infants and children. I decided becoming a nanny would become a good fit. It was, and I have worked for four families with infants from 2 months old up to grade school age children. When it was time for my last little guy to go to school, his dad offered me an office job in the accounting department at the commercial door business he owns. I have been there for four years, and I am still employed there. However, I really miss working as a nanny, and I am looking to re-enter that career field.

Part-Time Child Care Provider Available in Canton, GA: Mykarah L.
Hi my name is Mykarah Lowe and I am a responsible and caring nanny. I am CPR and First Aid certified, and I was raised around healthcare workers, which has given me a strong understanding of safety, responsibility, and staying calm in any situation. I have my own car and a valid driver’s license I’m able to provide reliable transportation when needed. I have two younger sisters, ages 8 and 10, so I’m very comfortable around children and naturally enjoy spending time with them. Being around them has helped me develop patience, creativity, and the ability to connect with kids of different ages. I also love activities that keep children engaged, whether that’s playing games, helping with schoolwork, or doing fun creative projects. In addition to childcare, I’m also able to help with cooking and light cleaning as needed to support the household. My rates are open for negotiation. I would love the opportunity to provide a safe, fun, and supportive environment for your children.
