More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

In 2023 I was a summer nanny for a family with two children ages being 9 years old and 11. I also have done a lot of babysitting for family friends over the years with children ranging from the ages of one years old to 10 years old. Then the past four years pretty consistently every other Thursday I would babysit a family of three kids who when I started with the ages of two years old, four years old and six years old and they had a six month old puppy and now four years later I don’t babysit as frequently just because they don’t need it as much, but the kids are now 6, 8 and 10 and the dog is four years old now and we still have a great time whenever I do get to have the opportunity to see them.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing all types of crafts. I love to color, draw, build or do any sort of crafty activity. I love to get outside whether it’s playing basketball or going on a bike ride or just a walk or making food and going on a little picnic or going to a beach that’s nearby. I also love to bake and cook so it’s always fun to find a recipe like some cookies and get all the kids involved and turn on music to dance and sing and just have a fun time. Not as common but sometimes if I’m babysitting at night if the parents allow it sometimes it’s fun to bundle up and get snacks and get on the couch and watch a movie together not as common because I love to have the kids be involved in activities and we actually do stuff. But I’m very versatile in the way. I’ll connect with whatever the kids or parents would like me to do because I love a wide variety of activities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny for me is letting the parents know that they’re allowing their kids to be in their hands of someone they can trust and believe in. Also for the children making it memorable and being almost like a big sister to them and making them feel comfortable and feel safe with someone who they can trust and go to whenever they need anything and also respecting the parents rules and daily routines of course. but when I think of being a nanny, one of the most important pieces for me is trying to make an impact that’s positive in their life to help them grow into amazing young adults. It may be a small impact, but to me that’s always been something important to me because I remember my babysitters and which ones were good to me and which ones were not and I always want to be the babysitter that they enjoy and have a great time with.

My experience with special needs children...

I have not actually worked in an actual paid setting with a child who has special needs, but I do have a cousin who I have been pretty close to growing up. She is 16 years old right now. She has autism and she is always connected with me very well of course she is my cousin so that makes a difference. I have not worked with kids who have any other disability other than autism because my cousin only has autism so I don’t have experience with any other disabilities!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I would say my favorite nanny moment has been the past couple months when I’ve got to go to the family who I have babysat over the past four years, I’ve actually got pretty emotional recently seeing them get older because as their babysitter I remember when I first started babysitting the youngest she was only two and she still needed me to change her diapers but now they barely need me and I love to see how they’ve grown and matured and that’s one of my favorite things about nannying or babysitting is seeing the kids getting older and seeing how they grow and seeing what impact I’ve made. My other favorite moment was when I got to be a summer nanny, and I got to be a part of the oldest daughter’s 12th birthday party I got to help her plan it and got to go to her party as well and that was so fun and the family also invited me over for my birthday later that summer and celebrated it with me as well and I just really appreciated having that connection.
