A little bit about me

Hello, my name is Alexis. I'm 17 years old and still in high school. I enjoy looking after children and giving them positive memories. I have three younger siblings, the oldest of whom is 14, the second is 8, and the youngest who will turn two very soon. I've been babysitting my siblings since I was 12 years old. I also occasionally babysit my cousins. I'm at ease doing everything from changing diapers to putting the kids down for their nap. I have no prior experience as a nanny, but now that I have my driver's license, I can begin my search. I prefer not to do a lot of driving yet but if it is needed I'd love to do it. I'm also about to get my first covid vaccine and I have taken covid very seriously. Currently for the summer there is a few weeks where I will be unavailable because of family vacations these dates will be discussed. So I will need someone who's willing to give me a flexible schedule.

I babysit my 3 younger siblings very often. I also have watched 8 cousins all under 10 for 4 hours.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy arts/crafts, sports, video games, board games and most outdoor activities. I've noticed from my siblings that it's very important to allow kids to be creative and to keep them active. I will bring crafts for the kids to do, encourage their creativity or take them outside if weather permits.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Our childhood is a very important part of our lives and it helps to become the people we are today. So it's important to give children good memories to reflect on later.

My experience with special needs children...

I enjoy going to fundraising events to help children with special needs and It includes things like playing sports with them. I'm also am a big advocate for the special needs community. My sister has adhd and I had a learning disability, speech impediment and I am still currently dealing with anxiety and a sensory processing disorder. I've been able to improve a ton with speech by the time I was in middle school and I'd love to help other kids like me. It's important that kids with special needs are treated just like anyone else.
