I enjoy doing crafts with kids, outdoor activities, playing house and restaurant, and truly anything that keeps them off screens and helps them interact with one another.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of the most important aspects of being a nanny is finding a healthy balance between creating a fun, engaging environment and honoring the responsibility that comes with the role. I truly value giving children the space to have fun and simply be kids, while also maintaining appropriate boundaries. While I strive to build a fun environment, my priority is to keep them safe, set appropriate boundaries, and always act in their best interest while they are in my care.
My experience with special needs children...
I have volunteer for several years with Night to Shine Ministries. Night to Shine puts on a prom for high school kids with special needs. I was the buddy of one of the kids for the evening.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moment is when I arrive at the house and the kids come running up, jump into your arms and give you a big hug!
