More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My younger sister, Lily Grace, has Down syndrome, so I have been caring for her my entire life. She is the love of my life and I have enjoyed every second of taking care of her!
Also, I worked as a tumbling instructor for a company called Tumbling Tigers in Baton Rouge, LA. I tumbled with children ages 2-6 and really enjoyed that. I had an opportunity to engage and bond with so many different children which was very special to me.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love playing outdoors, going on walks, doing arts and crafts, painting, chatting about life, etc.
I love hearing children's perspectives on things, their thoughts, ideas, and opinions are important to me and I will always listen intently no matter their age!

The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is creating a bond with the children where they feel safe, comfortable, accepted, and loved. I stated this in my previous answer but it is all about building a sacred bond built on love and trust. I want the kids I sit for to trust me completely and know that I am going to protect them and love them unconditionally. I take a parent's decision to trust me with their child very seriously and will always live up to the expectation set for me as a caregiver. I will always have my guard up when caring for your children and will love them as my own. I always say that I can't imagine how much I'll love my own children because of how much I love the kids I nanny for. I mean that with my whole heart!
My experience with special needs children...
As stated previously, my younger sister, LG, has Down syndrome, so I have been caring for her my whole life. She is incredible, intelligent, and so witty. We are so thankful because she can and will talk your ear off! I am definitely open to working with a child that has Downs.
To be completely transparent, I have worked with children that have autism for a brief period of time and it was not a great fit for me because of the challenges that come with learning ABA, etc. I say this with the upmost love and respect, and because your children deserve someone who is an exceptional fit for them! Honesty and transparency are very important to me!

The most important part about being a nanny...
Some of my most memorable, sweet memories are with the two children I have nannied for the past three years.
They are turning 8 and 6 this month and I started sitting them when they were 5 and 3!
The 3- year old boy was very shy when I first started sitting for them. The 5-year old girl has always talked my ear off.
I remember after my first year sitting for them, I went away for the summer and came back that August. I walked in the door and knelt down to smile at the 3- year old and he ran up to me and jumped into my arms, with one loud belt of, "Miss Allyson!" My heart still explodes thinking about it.
To me, being a nanny is forming a sacred bond between caregiver and child, built on trust and love. Seeing that come into fruition in this moment was incredible for me.
Also, a more recent memory, was the now 7-year old girl talking to me about boys she likes! Having the privilege of watching her grow while also feeling comfortable and excited to share with me. Melt!
