Hello friends, my name is Alondra Alberto. I am Dominican and Italian and I grew up here in New York City. I am a college student currently attending Bronx Community College majoring in Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT). Working as a teacher’s assistant in an elementary school showed me how much I enjoy being around kids their energy, curiosity, and the way they see the world made each day fun and unpredictable. Seeing them learn, grow, and explore new things was such a rewarding experience that it made me want to keep working with children. Working with children taught me the value of being bilingual, patient, and organized. These skills help me connect with kids from different backgrounds, stay calm in challenging situations, and keep things running smoothly in a busy environment. Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a teacher’s assistant at an elementary school for a little over a year, where I supported daily classroom activities and helped students with their work. I guided small groups, reinforced lessons, and encouraged positive behavior. This experience taught me how to effectively communicate with children and support their learning, making me confident and capable when working with kids. I worked at a daycare last summer. Working at a daycare gave me hands-on experience caring for and interacting with young children. I learned how to manage routines, keep kids engaged through play and learning activities, and handle different behaviors with patience and understanding. It helped me build strong communication skills and taught me how to create a safe, supportive space for children to grow and feel comfortable.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy doing creative activities with children, like arts and crafts, painting, and making fun DIY projects. I also love reading books aloud and encouraging storytelling to spark their imagination. Outdoor games and active play are always fun, whether it’s tag, relay races, or scavenger hunts. I like engaging kids in hands-on activities, such as building with blocks, doing puzzles, or exploring simple science experiments. Singing songs, dancing, and even baking easy snacks together are also activities I find enjoyable and rewarding when working with children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

What matters most to me as a nanny is creating a loving, safe, and nurturing environment where children feel happy, supported, and free to be themselves. I believe in being patient, kind, and present and really listening to their needs and encouraging their curiosity and creativity. Building trust and having clear communication with both the children and their parents is so important to me. At the end of the day, knowing I’ve made a positive impact in a child’s life, even in small ways, is what truly fills my heart.
