Hi! My name is Alyssa and I'm currently a senior finishing my degree online through Oral Roberts University. I've always loved kids--being the youngest of 5, I've had plenty of babysitting experience with my 4 nieces and 2 nephews, along with the 15 families I have nannied for over the years/throughout college. I work with kids of all ages and find so much joy in engaging with little ones, laughing with them, playing outside, going to the park, or simply sitting in a rocking chair reading their favorite book.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being a source of love, comfort, and fun for the kids by engaging with them and being present. One of my pet peeves is whenever babysitters see their job as an opportunity to sit their child in front of the TV and get paid to scroll on their phone. Kids are a gift, and any time spent with them is an opportunity to invest in their lives and leave them feeling acknowledged and loved!

My experience with special needs children...

For 3 years I assisted in my high school's Spring Fling event as a "buddy" as surrounding school districts would bring their special needs students to our school for a day of games, food and fun!

The buddies I was partnered with had Downs Syndrome, but I am open to working for families with children of all special needs and willing to learn routines, regimens, and how to best care for them.
