The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was when the little boy I cared for, who was very shy and quiet at first, finally opened up and invited me to his “pretend restaurant.” He had set up his play kitchen and made a full “meal” for me, complete with a hand-drawn menu and pretend coffee. It may seem simple, but it was a big moment for him he felt safe, confident, and proud. Seeing him come out of his shell and knowing I had earned his trust reminded me why I love this work so much. Moments like that when a child feels seen, supported, and joyful are what make caregiving so meaningful to me.
