A little bit about me

I have over a decade of experience in a daycare setting. I started off as a helper which lead to being hired as a full-time staff member. I was registered with the county as a daycare provider. That process required a background check, finger printing, and a First Aid and CPR certification from the Red Cross. I was responsible for overseeing the safety and well being of 10-20 children daily, ages vary from infants to elementary students. I closely monitored children's activities, prepared meals, maintained a safe and sanitary environment, ensuring that the business was in compliance with all Federal and local daycare laws. I provided preschool activities to help children learn and prepare for elementary school. I also monitored headcount, so the daycare had appropriate coverage for the amount of children signed in for the day. This was a critical task needed to make sure that the daycare was able to accommodate as many children as possible, and stay in compliance.

Other than the common important stuff like your child's wellbeing... I find it is also important to be on the same page as the parents. Parenting styles are all different and I believe assisting in how parents want their child raised is very important.

There was one little boy at the daycare I worked at that begged his parents to go out of town so I could babysit him. He had gotten a new boardgame and really wanted to play it with me. Which we did and made a pillow/blanket fort.
