My sister is a special education teacher and I have helped her class with many activities. I babysat a 15 year old girl with special needs for a summer and loved it! I also helped teach a dance program called dancing wonders at my dance studio that gives children with special needs a free dance class.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was when the little girl I was babysitting said I was her favorite babysitter and I was like a big sister to her. I had been watching her since she was 4 and now she is 7 and she really is like a little sister to me. We have a strong connection and a special bond and she always made me cards saying how much she loved me. It made me realize that I can be a safe person and big sister to kids and I love creating those special bonds.
