Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I’ve cared for children in ambulances, past babysitting experiences, as well as being a tennis coach with younger kids, teaching big groups at a time .

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I always encourage outdoor play when the weather allows, that can include walks, more physical activities like tag, playgrounds, just soaking up the sun with some music, etc, but indoor play is also very doable as well, video games, cartoons, books, puzzles, arts and crafts, pretend play, dancing to music, and dress up are just a few.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part for me is safety, always. Being able to spring into action if something happens, and not freeze in panic, and knowing what to do. I can tell you first hand when emergencies happen there is no time to waste, every second counts.

My experience with special needs children...

As someone who has autism, the struggles people on the spectrum deal with are very, very personal for me. I myself deal with sensory overload, food sensory issues, stimming, self-soothing, feeling the occasional meltdowns, along with having a hard time with sarcasm or social cues at times. Since middle school, I have always made an effort to be involved in the special education program my schools would offer, not to mention I myself was also in it, I loved being with the other students in the program, and visiting their classrooms, along with learning what their favorite things were, learning about their speech tablets, and learning how they are used.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think my favorite moment was after a very long session of arts and crafts and writing letters, it was time for me to go home. While talking with the parents about how the night went at the door I heard a very loud “Wait!” Coming from their playroom, only to be greeted with not one, not two, but three drawings of me, with a bunch of stickers, hearts, and paint. I still have them in my room, you could say I’m a proud art collector.
