spending time outside- exploring/moving/playing, sensory and practical life activities, and creating and appreciating art, music, and food, are some things i love doing with my daughter!
The most important part about being a nanny...
creating an environment that encourages learning and play, independence and security, and curiosity in a SAFE and positive manner. respecting and supporting the autonomy of even the youngest of kiddos is also something that is personally very important to me!
My experience with special needs children...
My younger sister is on the spectrum, and experiences some sensory issues/differences that I have experienced first hand. My daughter also used quite a bit of “baby sign language” to communicate pre-verbally, now, i make an effort to learn and teach her the full/accurate/true signs! :)
*i am always hesitant to use the term baby sign language because they are often inaccurate and more just ~inspired by~ and i don’t want to dismiss the complexity of ASL in any way.
Unfortunately I have very little experience when it comes to kiddos with physical disabilities/differences. :( (not at all opposed to learning though!!)
