A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Ana Sofia. I’m 29 years old and have been in the childcare industry since the age of 16, starting off as a babysitter, but nannying became my full time job at the age of 23. I’ve worked for the same family for the past 6.5 years caring for their growing family of now 4 children ranging from the youngest at 1 y/o to the oldest at 8 y/o.
I have plenty of newborn experience as I cared for 3 of the children as newborns.
I am a very patient and nurturing person and don’t shy away from caring for children with special needs. I try to keep my work space tidy, organized, yet fun and creative. Self expression and communication are extremely important to me, especially when it comes to a child’s development and the overall family dynamic. My hope is to make a parent’s life easier and help the household run as smoothly as possible.

More About Me

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love playing games such as Go Fish, Candy Land, and Uno. These games are great when little ones are learning numbers and colors, as well as teaching them to take turns, patience, and to be a good sport when things don’t go their way. I also love arts and crafts, painting, scavenger hunts, cooking, going to different parks and museums, hanging out at the beach, reading, and playing dress up or games where they are free to use their imagination.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe being a supportive and understanding adult in their life is the most important thing a nanny can be. Knowing that they are safe in my care and seeing me as a friend who they can openly and safely communicate with is key for me, and it helps me really bond with these children as well as helping them communicate with their parents, deepening their bond and creating a safe and supportive family structure.

My experience with special needs children...

Early in my career, I cared for a child with selective mutism, and most recently worked with a child who has ADHD.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I love car rides. It’s such a simple thing, but listening to music in the car and talking about our day, hearing them express themselves differently as they mature, and being a safe space for children to open up to whether they’re feeling down or having the best day ever has been one of my favorite things as a nanny.
