The most important part about being a nanny...
To me, the most important part of being a nanny, or any one that cares for children is patience. Without patience, understanding and listening. You can not fully be there for a child to give them what they need if you are not willing to listen and be patient. You have to understand that everything is new and unknown to them. It is my job to listen and help guide them. I am their assistant, not teacher. You have to always remember no child is the same, not even identical twins.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with ADD and ADHD children. I have also worked with and taught children with autism, deaf children, and those with physical disabilities.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moments come when I get to see the excitement on a child's face when they accomplish something for the first time on their own. Like when they learn how to climb or tie their shoes or learn how to jump rope or riding a bike.
