More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I worked at a children’s museum in California called Pretend City 2015 through 2020, where I was a floor supervisor then an assistant manager. Before moving to island, I taught elementary school from 2020 through 2023 (yup, my first year of teaching started online with distance learning!) Fast forward to now, I currently work in tech but volunteer at the Hawaii Children’s Discovery Center on the weekends.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Hands-on activities that are fun, silly, and educational (messes are encouraged too!). Some examples include art projects using materials we find on our nature walks, pretend play where we can dress up and be whoever we want to be, and even talent shows to practice our best hidden skills!
My experience with special needs children...
As a former teacher who worked with children with all sorts of abilities, I have experience working with children with the following: Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Developmental Coordination Disorder, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, speech/language impairment, and emotional disturbance.
