A little bit about me

My range in my bio starts in 1999 when I job shadowed a 2nd grade classroom while attending high school and I knew right away I wanted to work with children. My first job with kids was a camp counselor at a boys a girls club in Bloomington. Fast forward to now...I was just laid off due to Covid after running a very successful summer day camp program for children ages 5-12.
I have a daughter myself who is 11 and is in the 6th grade. I understand the value of family time and just need to stay busy during the day while my daughter is at school.
I have watched a newborn child for a few weeks when the mother went back to work until the baby could get a spot in day care.
I am actually certified to teach 1st AID/CPR/AED through my previous employer.
I love doing projects with children, reading with them and I myself enjoy hiking and letting kids explore nature.
I’m also a volunteer coach for softball, volleyball and basketball and enjoy playing all kinds of sports as well.
