I have helped care for a set of brothers who had autism and ADHD. The younger one (7) had autism and had certain things I would need to do to take care of him. The older one (9) had ADHD, and I would also have certain things I had to do to help him, especially with homework.
The most important part about being a nanny...
When I moved out to Texas I had to say bye to the boys I had been nannying. The younger one, who had autism and hated touch, gave me a big hug and was crying. It was super sad and sweet that he felt safe enough with me to do that. I think about those sweet boys every day.
