Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

As a volunteer in special education programs shadowing teachers! As a teachers assistant I helped the children reach their IEP goals and helped in over packed classrooms.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Really creating activities based on their hobbies and personalities! Doing arts and crafts with my artists! Outside activities for my athletes! And at home science experiments and exploration with my little scientists!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Patience. You have to actually understand children and where they are developmentally before even signing up for child care. You have to be patient with the tantrums of the terrible twos and threes. The constant need of a newborn. And the curiosity of older children.

My experience with special needs children...

As I stated earlier as a teachers assistant for two years helping children reach their IEP goals, assisting with physical therapy at Chastain Horse Ranch in Atlanta for two years and lastly nannying for a family that a had an active 6 year old with autism.

And if we’re counting this technically, I have several family members with text book autism that under the ages of 10. And I enjoy babysitting to give mommy and daddy a break.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Ahhh there’s so many! My favorite would have to be watching the 6 month old whose family I was with for 4 months at that point began to crawl. And getting him into tummy time, because his mother was worried about him developmentally. But I was so proud to watch him progress.
