More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I babysat all thru my high school years and then once I had my first child I was a stay at home mother back then we had adds in the green sheet so I had 2 children that came to our home. I have friends I sat for and 7 grandsons of my own so I'm experienced in any age.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Crafting is always a favorite teaching them thru crafting doesn't make them think it is study time. I think that's the best part they are having fun while learning how to count and their colors etc. And making things to give to mommy and Daddy that they are proud of creating. When weather is nice it's always great for walks. Point out the colors of cats look for birds and squirrels etc. Nature is different everyday so it is also a learning experience. I try to make all activities learning ones. Computer time and TV time not a fan of them sitting in front of. I understand they were once my kids sitter as I cooked and cleaned but if I can be there to help learn etc I rather do just that.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part to me is I want the children to feel safe and feel like I'm there to help to have fun to be a friend I want to see that smile when I walk thru that door. And when I leave a smile from them and mom and dad knowing they can leave for work and have nothing to stress over. Home will be clean the children happy and safe. And if they have pets I treat them like my own pets. My child..lol
My experience with special needs children...
I have my best friends son who is now 22 I have been with him since the age of 6 He is Autistic and has other special needs that require a lot of one on one. So I taught him how to sleep in his big boy room and do things that mommy doesn't have to do for him. He has anger issues and I seem to be able to control and deescalate the situation. So I am understanding and patient with all children but there are some you may need to have more of that with. It's not easy as I watch my best friend in tears at times. But I will always help
The most important part about being a nanny...
Wow every moment of being a nanny is special. Each child is unique in their own way. I have several that have touched my heart so this is difficult. We sometimes forget they are just our mini me and have bad days and feel like doing nothing. So I think it was actually a mother who had just had a stressful day alot from work plus the twins going wild and I say with her and hugged her and told her what s great mother she was and that she is not Superwomen you are Supermom.. there is a difference no matter what you get cleaned today or if the trash gets skipped or you say a bad word etc. Those babies will still love you. I will never forget the smile and tears just dried up. Moms need reassurance at times. I know I do and I'm 55 no lil ones at home. It was a bond like no other and sadly they moved back over seas I left high school moved in and lost contact. To this day I think if her. I tell my daughters daily you are the best mom's don't forget that.
