I love engaging in educational and 'innocent play' activities where the kids are able to utilize their imagination. Engagement and positive stimulation are extremely important for small minds, so I try to encourage that as much as possible.

The most important part is truly creating a safe space and being a safe adult for the kids to turn to-- yes, I'm taking care of their basic needs, but nannying and caregiving doesn't stop there. I get to be part of the child's life while they're developing, so it's important for me to be a secure adult and model that behavior so they can live secure lives.

I used to work at The Vista School in Hershey, which is a school designed specifically for children on the spectrum along with other disabilities.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I had a kid who loved Nutella and had never baked anything before. I love to cook, so I found a super easy recipe we could follow for some 3-ingredient Nutella cookies, and we got to enjoy them together with his favorite show. It's definitely a core memory.
