I've cared for many children, I have family who have a hard time finding help because their children are special needs(autistic, ADHD, epilepsy) I learned their schedules and adapted to their rules to keep a great environment for the kids. I've cared for children of all ages. Growing up with many siblings younger than me I've been left to care for them on many occasions. I've also babysat for my neighbors when I had lived in merlin.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love taking children on walks or to the park. I love helping them with tasks such as homework, which I know sounds so monotone but truly helping with that kind of stuff makes my day. I enjoying getting into what their into as well, learning the childs individual likes and dislikes to better understand them and have an overall better relationship with them.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I feel the most important thing is to go at the kids speed in everything you do. This is their home, their space and you're coming in as someone to care. You can only want the best for them. Stick to the rules and schedules given by their parents and always make sure they are doing the best they can be.
My experience with special needs children...
I've worked with children who have been on the spectrum of autism, ADHD as well as children who have epilepsy.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I remember one time i babysit so their parents could have a date night, their daughter sleep walks and i just remember the conversation I had, had with her as she held an empty cup for it must've been half an hour until she walked away back to bed as if it had never happened. I found it rather cute.
