Hi, my name is Angelique Thompson and i am 19 years old. I’m a hardworking, dedicated & kind individual. I work hard for the things that i want in life & my job is one of them. I’m a really good multi-tasker & I’ve always been the very outgoing type of person as well! I’ve been babysitting part time ever since i was 15. I started doing it full time once i turned 17 years old. Also in high school i was a pre-school teacher for 5th and 6th period my 12th grade year. Yes, i was a pre-school teacher for about a year at my 12th grade year of high school!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love teaching them things! I know it’s weird but i loveee teaching them how to develop their awareness skills, listening skills, their ability to know the difference of things. Also teaching them how to walk and even say their first words means so much to me! I love going to the park with them and even also going to amusement parks as well! Going to ice cream/cupcake shops. It’s honestly endless. I always try to make everyday that I’m with them, a fun experience no matter what we’re doing!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being a nanny means so much to me! My biggest dream in life is to become a mom with 6 kids and also owning my own daycare. Ever since i was younger (12) and when our house got foreclosed on, and our lights/electricity turned off as well as our water, it meant so much to me to try to do any and everything i could for my family so we could survive. My siblings were around 3 and 6 and i tried my best to do anything i could do so that we was fed, bathed, and safe every night. My mom was a single parent at the time and we was struggling hard! I knew i loved being a babysitter when there was nothing else i wanted to do but see the kids that i babysitted (even on my off days) Seeing them grow as their own individuals and seeing them learn things that they never thought they could do. (but you believed in them and pushed them) & now they can do it means a lot! To grow a bond with each child, as well as their parents and for them to come to you with anything is absolutely amazing!

My experience with special needs children...

I actually don’t have any but is open to trying out the experience!

The most important part about being a nanny...

One moment would be when i was able to help pitch in for this little girl’s Christmas. It was actually when i was a pre school teacher. Her mom was in hard times and i understood completely being that when i was younger, my family & i were homeless. She was what you would call, “my buddy.” So she was particularly assigned to me so that i could help her better with her reading/ writing/ and math skills. I grew such a close bond to her & treated her like she was my own. For Christmas Eve we had a party for our kids and when all of the other little kids got so much gifts and things from their family and loved ones i noticed she didn’t get anything and it crushed me so bad. I remember her crying to me about how her mom couldn’t afford anything & it hurt me so bad! So that night i decided to go out & spend $800 that i had saved to get a car, and spent it on her for her Christmas gifts. I contacted her mom and gave her the gifts and the mom couldn’t stop crying when we met. Def too 10!!
