The most important part about being a nanny...
What matters most is making the child/children feel comfortable and safe. When a parent is away and their kid is left alone with a stranger, the kid is naturally, going to be scared. If they don't feel comfortable and safe around their nanny, they will resist, cry, scream, and be problematic (and even worse they will hate their caretaker). That's why I think making a child/children feel safe a comfortable.
My experience with special needs children...
During the martial arts classes I teach I have worked with many special needs children. I have learned many skills on how to manage their needs without disturbing others or degrading them/making them feel talked down to. Every kid I've worked with loves me and I love them too!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I wad playing with a 2 year old outside in her Little Tikes car, she got out because she wanted to go inside and a truck passes by. She immediately ran over to me for a hug. Later that day her uncle came to visit, and she did the same thing! She was scared of her uncle. She eventually warmed up to him and they were inseparable!
