My experience with special needs children...
I previously was the lead Administrative Assistant at a preschool and therapy center for children with special needs. I frequently substituted in both the toddler and infant rooms, as well as made “drop in” visits to every classroom multiple times per day. I formed relationships with ALL students, regardless of their communication level.
I have also previously worked as a special education paraprofessional at an elementary school, where I worked 1:1 with students on the autism spectrum.
